Come discuss cultural topic with folk after the potluck lunch!
Gained In Translation
Doors open at 6:00. Show 6:30 - 8:00 PM. Light refreshments served. Concert will be held outside (indoors if raining) with seating.
Gained in Translation is a group of top notch musicians whose multi language, genre-hopping musical repertoire will take you from the subtle beauty of bossa-nova to the sheer exuberance of Russian Gypsy music, and everything in between! Come listen and dance to the favorites both familiar (and not so familiar!) by Frank Sinatra, Dionne Warwick, Dean Martin, Jobim, Los Panchos, Aznavour, Piaf and others. The group will be singing in: French, Ukrainian, Russian, Gypsy, Portuguese and Creole, Japanese, German, Swahili, Italian, Spanish & Yiddish. Beautiful music and languages presented to you by Maurice Methot: rhythm guitar, vocals, Chris Brooks : lead guitar, vocals, Julie Fischer: bass, Victoria Richter: accordion, vocals.
Potluck Lunch
Come for lunch and meet friends new and old! The weekly potluck brings food and people together in the International House dining room for a buffet lunch. Bring a dish or donate a bit toward the bounty of house-cooked food provided by us, and yourselves.

Ikebana-Special Ikebana Workshop from Japan
Are you interested in learning Japan’s most traditional art of flower arrangement? Ikebana uses seasonal materials to celebrate the seasons and flowers bringing good luck and good feelings to all.
Come learn Ikebana, which is practiced all over the world. Having flowers in your life enriches your feelings and creativity.
Tuition: $30(includes flowers - portion donated to IH) Cash only

African Drumming Concert AND Talk
African Drumming Concert And Talk with Special Guest, Professor Martin Obeng!
Dust off your dancing shoes, and join us for an evening of international music and fun! IHRI is delighted to host an evening with Brown Professor and master drummer Kwaku Kwaakye (Martin) Obeng, who will tell us about West African drumming traditions and treat us to a special performance! Light refreshments will be served.
